I am One Year Old Today!!!!

Well today is my birthday.... Aunt Dorothy made a cake and mom made Bernard and me some great dog treats. Annette came over as well and we all sat around and talked. I got to play with YoYo and Dorothy gave each one of us a new toy.... Fun day. Mom is going on an inspection tomorrow, so I get to stay with Uncle Harold. Mom will be home Friday for the week-end, but has to leave again the following Monday. THEN... Mom will be home until after Christmas YEAH!!!!

I AM A UKC CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a long time since I have blogged. It has been a difficult journey with my broken leg and mom being so busy I haven't been able to show very much. We have gone to several AKC shows and have been outdone by judges and professional handlers in the ring. Mom does the best she can...but we can't always beat the politics.

This last week-end I went to Denton TX and finally outdid myself. It was cool outside and I was ready to go!! Show one I took Best in Breed and a Group 4. I did the same thing again on the second show to finally become a UKC Breed Champion.

Mom said that we are not going to show conformation for a while. I am not walking in the ring quite right...and I need to mature up a little. Soooooo in the meantime I started agility and obedience today!!!

We went to Uncle Harolds house and I got to go through the tunnel and up and down the A-frame. I also did the crawl tunnel and one jump. I am not so good at jumping yet...so mom says we will practice at home. I would not jump on the table as it was set up for the bigger dogs...but I did jump OFF!!!

Whew It's been a while!!

After the July show... Mom went to Italy for a couple of weeks. I missed her, but I got to spend time with my brother Bernard... and also my new friend YO YO. She is so cute but a little smaller than I am. Mom came home and we went to a show in Corpus Christi. I showed really well, but we lost to the politics.... (Judge picked the dog who was being shown by another judge) It's OK... those are things that happen in the Dog Show world..and you just have to learn when and who to show under.

I am going to a fun match this week-end..and hope to have new pictures. Nicole gets to go too and she is doing Rally. We are both preparing for a great week-end in Denton TX where there is lot's happenin!!!

The big week is over and I am tired. The best news is that PT has found a nice lady that doesn't travel as much as mom. He had a wonderful week-end with her...and she is so excited to keep him. It is the best for him and it makes mom happy! I finished the week with 2 points, by taking two Best of winners, two reserves and 1 class win. We had a good time. I am trying out PT's crate! It is so big....but I get to be so close to Nicole.... it is AWESOME. Mom said that Karen's dad is really sick and she is really sad. Makes me sad when mom talks about it. Mom cried today because when she bent down to pick me up I scrunced down just like my sister Maggie who I have not met yet. She knew right then that Karen would love me as well. In Hutto we saw a really cute Biewer terrier and so I wanted to have a picture of her on my blog. Takes mom a long time to get all of this stuff done!!!

San Antonio-- So far!!

I have done pretty well with mom the last two days. Uncle Harold and Dorothy pick us up in the morning and take us downtown. We then show in the ring with a judge. I have won my class and then have gone on to win Winners Bitch. I have gone in for Best of Breed both days, but the "specials" are winning everyday. Then Dorothy picks us up and Mom goes to work!! Mom says she is really proud of me. I now have 5 points!! I will have to get bunches better to get the two "majors" I need for my championship...but we never expected to have 5 points within the first two months!!! Mom and I are learning a lot!!!

Back From Big-D

Great holiday week-end with Mom in Dallas. She didn't take anyone else....it was just mom and ME! I tried really really hard... and most of the time I walked like a little lady!! My tables were not consistent...but I am getting better all the time!!

Sunday... I guess everyone was scared of me!! So the only people that showed up was the "special dog" (he was sooooo cute) and me. Well.... he is 3 1/2 years old and been a champion for a while. His table is perfect..and she just stands there and looks at his professional handler!! We didn't have a chance!!!

This next week is the BIG San Antonio Show..... mom says that we are just going down and coming home during the week so she can go to work. That's OK. I get really tired at the shows.

YEAH!! MOM'S HOME

Mom came home tonight from Tucson! She was at an AF Base named Davis Monthan. She met lots of new people, and she told me that most of them were dog lovers!! I am glad that mom gets to hang with some people that like dogs!
I got my nails trimmed tonight..and was not one bit happy about it! Mom said that the big international show is tomorrow and Sunday. Uncle Harold has been making me walk up and down the street...but he told mom that I am not willing to walk.. only run. I hope that I can control myselft tomorrow so I do OK in the ring :)

We had lots of fun...we all got along great and it was a marvelous family vacation!!!

Wow what a trip...it took 23 hours to drive there..and I was just a little car sick on the first day. The next day we arrived..and there were dogs everywhere! They had dock diving (I don't want to do that!) And Terrier races (I really WANT to do that!). Confirmation... I did that!! and Agility... sister Shotz did that and Rally ..sister Nicole did that... and obedience. We had a great time. Mom said that I behaved very well on such a long trip..but didn't show too well in the ring.. MY GOSH...there was so much to see...and so many Toy Fox Terriers...and so many spots on the floor to check out!!! Mom's friend Terry took pictures of me in the ring..and we will post them when she gets home.

Shotz won a ribbon in Agility.... Nicole got a NEW TITLE in Rally and I got two second place ribbons and two third place ribbons. Mom wasn't too disappointed.. We will go for our international championship title in a couple of weeks. There are two judges from Canada, one from Europe and One from the USA.... if they all grade me as perfect.. I will be a new international champion!!! We are looking foward to it...and I have to practice really hard.

Great Show Day

Mom said I did even better today. There was a cute little Toy Fox Terrier there today.. and she was in the ring with me. She was 8 1/2 months old and was tan and white. She didn't do a very good down and back... and wouldn't stand still on the table. I did a really good down and back...but I did jump up and down... and didn't walk all the way around the ring. Sometimes I just have to RUN!!! Anyway, the judge pointed at me and mom said "good work little one" and we got a bunch of ribbons and got our picture taken with the JUDGE!!! Mom said that we got "ONE POINT". We only need 15 points in AKC to become a champion....and that is what this blog as been about! We got 1st in our class, BEST OF WINNERS and BEST OF BREED.

On the 9th of June we will be traveling to UKC Nationals in Kalamazoo MI. It is a long trip...and I hope to get a few UKC points at the Nationals... that will be really hard because all of the dogs are really older and more experienced. In UKC you need 100 points!! I hope to get at least 40! Mom says we will work hard this week on the table. That is my worst part. (That and running!)

SHOW DAY!!!

Mom got up early and we got ready to go to the show. Her friend Sally met us there so that we could take some pictures of my first time in the ring. I did really well. I had to go into the ring 4 different times during the day, and I did improve every single time. I hope to do well tomorrow.

Today I won First place in my class; Winners Bitch, Best of Breed Puppy and Best of Breed overall. Whoooo HOOOOO!!!

I am really tired and am already for bed. Mom is doing laundry, but she said we had to do toenails tonight....Dang......

May 29th. I am 6 months old today and have been walking well for about 4 days. Mom took me and Bernard to the fun match tonight to practice for the real show tomorrow. I won first place in my class and then went on to win Best of Breed. I didn't place in the group...but Mom was really happy all in all.

Our first training session. Mom and I are working for two minutes at a time, twice a day. I am excited to have the hood off of my head...but I am acting a little crazy in the pack and play so mom took my pink bed out for a while. I just can't help it!! I want to run and play!!

I am feeling well enough to give mom back talk!

Well.... I have a bare leg. I really have a very sore elbow. Mom let me go out on the grass to potty...and it was AWESOME! I started dancing around and mom kept saying "please stop jumping....please stop jumping" Everything itches and I want to lick lick lick. Mom makes me keep the collar on except when I go outside and when I eat. I did walk a little...and mom seems happy with what is happening. I am going to try really hard to get perfect again!! Mom said everyone has been asking about me...and I really appreciate all of your good thoughts. It's just time to get back on my schedule. Mom does lots of different therapies on me. She is a holistic health provider... I have been taking my Vemma everyday!!

I got to go to work with mom this morning so that she could take me to the doctor. I got my hard orange cast off and they just put a pick wrap on my leg. Mom got to see my scar..and she said we have lots of work to do. I only have to be still for three more weeks. I am getting better at just napping and mom is still holding me a whole lot. She trimmed my toe nails last night and I didn't even care!! The cone is making my hair stand up funny...and we don't know what to do about it!

Well... mom took my cone off for a little while.....and she was working her business on the computer. I was glad to hold still...because she said if I chewed on my leg...I would have to put the cone back on. It was great to just relax without it for a couple of hours. Mom...then said we were going to do a little table work. I did really well tonight on the table...but I forgot to put my tail up. Mom was really happy that I would stand there by myself!!! So I guess I am getting a little better!!!

Surprise for mom!

Well, I came home from the Doctor with a surprise for mom. I got a Vemma Orange CAST!!! Mom called the doctor..and now they have it in my chart that I only get pink!! Although orange is the color for my moms business.... I am her pink girl. I also got a nasty plastic cone. I am ready to bite someone!!!

I didn't have stitches after all. The doctor did everything inside so my scar wouldn't show at the dog shows....he put glue on my leg instead!!

Next week I get the hard cast off and go to a soft one..... then the week after...I just get my plain leg.

Mom says that I have to be still for two weeks after that...and then I can swim!!!

I have my PIG!!!

Well... I am finally home....but only for a little while. Mom says that I have to go to Uncle Harolds during the day. I was really glad to get home to my pig. I enjoy chewing on my cast so I have to wear a silly collar. I WANT THE CAST OFF!!

Everyone was glad to see me...and mom carried me around for about two hours. Her friends Sandy and Linda came over for foot spas....and I took a nap during that time.

I am jumping and jumping with my three legs.... I have to keep in shape. It makes my mom crazy!!! I do get my stitches out on Monday!!

Mom came to see me tonight. I was really tired! She just held me for about 1/2 hour and I felt better. She said that Harold will pick me up and keep me while she is gone....I cannot walk on my pink cast for six weeks, so I have to be in my crate or mom has to hold me for the next six weeks.... not too bad a deal. Mom said that she is going to leave all the toys I put on the pillow alone until I get home.... I guess PT will just have to find another place to sleep. Everyone is missing me....mom says they even looked under the bed!

Mom said we have to cancel a couple of the entries for the upcoming shows.... I got all the hair shaved off my leg. I don't think the judges would think that is very pretty. Mom says I will have to learn to walk all over again......but first we are going to swim everyday after I get my cast off. She says it will help.

Major Setback

At 5:45 pm on April 16, I was running really fast and jumping on the cot that PT sleeps on by the window. I was having such a good time. I already had 4 toys on the pillow on the cot. I like staying there because I can look out the window. I lost my balance and slipped before I jumped and hit my leg on the cot frame. At least I landed on the pillow so I didn't hit my head....but I cried out really loud.

Mom was right there by me....and grabbed me up to give me some love. I had my leg straight out...and I let mom know that it hurt really bad!! She wrapped me in a blanket and took me to the kitchen. She grabbed the therapy pads out of the freezer and we went to sit on the bed. For the rest of the night she had ice on my leg...20 minutes on and 20 minutes off. We were both really tired. This morning she took me outside to potty...and I refused to put any weight on my leg cause it still hurt...but I still pottied!

Mom dropped me by Uncle Harold's on the way to work. Harold took me to the vet...and they took pictures of my leg. The lady from the vet called mom and told her it was broken..and I needed to go see someone special.... Laura (the lady from the Vet) and Uncle Harold took me and another dog (puppy)that had been injured to Sonterra vet hospital where I am having surgery on my broken leg at 3:00 today. The special man is Dr. Anderson. He is supposed to be the best there is at fixing legs. Mom gets to come visit me from 9:00 - 10:00 tonight. Uncle Harold will take me home tomorrow because mom will be out of town until Tuesday night at midnight. I will get to go to my real house on Wednesday morning. Mom's friend Karen told me that her roommate Leslie works at this hospital...she has already been in to see me a couple of times.... and will call mom as soon as the surgery is over. I am really afraid...but know mom will come back and get me.

We will have to work really hard to make sure that I will be able to walk correctly.

Horrible Family Picture

Mom said we needed our first "Family Picture" I had no idea what that was. Mom put PT on the table and told him to stay!! (He is so good at that) Then she set Shotz up there... well that didn't go over very well. Nicole then jumped up.... She is huge and took up the whole table....Mom laughed at her... and she smiled back... Then it was my turn. I am still really afraid of the table...but mom put me by PT. He holds really still and she knew that he wouldn't knock me off!! I didn't want to fall off the table!!! Anyway.... Not so good....but it is our first family picture!!!

REALLY REALLY Tough Day!!

Mom let me play outside early today. I wasn't sure about all the cactus...but I am learning really quick. Mom said we were going to the vet for a chip...but I thought it was like the cheese ones, or the potatoe ones or even the popcorn ones...boy was I wrong. Nicole went along too cause she needed a Rabies shot. We picked up Uncle Harold, Wulfie, Pokie, and BERNARD. He got to ride in the crate with me. We rolled around and growled and snapped and played and played all the way there.... Harold kept telling up us hush up.... but we didn't.

When we got there... there was a table. Mom put my name on a list. There were lots of dogs there...but I was the cutest!!! This man picked me up...and told mom how to hold me. She did and he stuck a huge needle in my back. Mom said I was really brave....I just said grrrrr....but didn't even look at the man. Then it was Bernards turn. Mom held him... and he cried..and then tried to bite mom. Harold was pretty smart for making mom hold Bernard. Then all of the other dogs had to get a Rabies shot. They had a scale in the exam room...so mom weighed Bernard first. He weighted 7lb6oz. Mom said that is how much Eric weighed when she had him as a baby 34 years ago!!! I weighed 3lbs 12 oz. Mom said I was perfect in every way.. I wasn't a wuss like Bernard....I didn't even cry when I got my chip. We were all tired when mom put us back in the car. Bernard and I slept all the way home.... I then got home a took a very long nap. Mom said she was going to wash the blood off of my back tomorrow. I get to play outside now... it has cooled off!!!

BOY WAS I MAD..... and the SCARED!!

Mom came home from work today...and we all went outside. It was such an incredible day because the weather was sooooo nice. I ran back and forth on the sidewalk until my tongue was hanging out. Mom told me to slow down and not get so hot. Then she blew the leaves around with a really loud tube...and PT and I ran around the yard. Shotz doesn't like playing outside.... and Nicole was laying on the patio. After mom finished with the leaves, she got the hose out and was watering the plants and washing off the stepping stones. She sprayed me a couple of times...and I really didn't like it. I found this huge mud puddle and proceeded to get all muddy. Mom just laughed and continued working. After she put everything away, I thought we would just go inside and eat dinner. Boy was I wrong. Mom swooped me up and took me into the kitchen and gave me my first bath. UGH!!! Baby shampoo...I thought mom said I was getting to be a big girl...but NO...BABY SHAMPOO. When it was all over she just rubbed me with a towel and let me run around. All in all it wasn't so bad for my first bath!!

Well dinner at Harold and Dorothy's was pretty exciting. We went out to the yard to see Bernard... and he jumped all over me..and pulled on my ear. I ran away and he grabbed my tail. I didn't realize he was so mean. Mom told me to "get him back" so I ran as fast as I could and took a bite out of his neck! He cried and ran away. I really am tougher than he is!!! He is so big and heavy... how can he be my baby brother???? Anyway... I ran until I was tired..so we went inside and I took a long nap while mom had dinner. Harold said my ears are pretty...but Bernards are still bent... :) Mom took our fighting pictures!!

I have even stolen from NICOLE!!!

It was great to have mom home. She was in Washington DC this week, but she said she didn't get to see the president. She met a bunch of new people who were really nice. One lady looked at my blog and said she loved my new bags!!! I love them too. I was running throught the house because it is too cold to play outside and I need to run run run... It is crazy when Nicole runs in the house...cause mom gets MAD! Nicole went to take a nap... and I stole her toy out of her bed and dragged it all the way to the bathroom so no one would see it!! Mom caught me and took my picture...so I guess you all will know now!!! Tonight Mom and I are going to dinner at Uncle Harolds so I can play with Bernard. He chewed a hole in his crate...and woke Harold up by dragging the house slipper through the house... Dorothy wasn't too impressed...but Harold thinks he is incredible!!! Anyway...he is huge.. and we are getting our pictures made tonight. Mom will blog them for me tomorrow!! Mom is so excited that my ears are UP!! I am working hard on it... Bernard's aren't so good :(
